Zakopane 2023: Chocholowskie Thermal Baths

Chocholowskie Thermal Baths

Chocholowskie Thermal Baths are the largest thermal baths in Poland and are located 18km from Zakopane. The thermal waters that fill the pool are drawn from a depth of nearly 3,600 meters. They are rich in micronutrients which are said to be good for you and help regenerate you body whilst giving you a surge of vitality.

Booking tickets is easy to do on their website and an email confirmation will be sent to you instantly. After checking in you will be given an Electronic wrist tag to wear. The wrist tags open your locker and can be used to buy any food\drink during your visit. The tags are checked and you settle up your bill before you leave.

A bus service is available from Zakopane which will take you to the baths, or if you have already hired a car you can drive with the knowledge that there is a large car park onsite.

Within the complex there are over 30 pools for you to choose from. These include two large heated outdoor pools. One with a pool bar and lazy river, the other with basketball and volleyball nets. Both outdoor pools have great views of the surrounding mountains.

There are multiple indoor pools, paddling pools for younger children, jacuzzies and sulphur plunge pools. Despite there plenty to choose from it can get busy and some of the jacuzzies are aways full.

There are three water slides. Two of the slides are ridden in a rubber ring (either 1 or 2 riders). The third slide has a trapdoor and is for the more thrill-seeking rider. Be warned that the queues for the slides can get very long, so we would advise riding the slide as early as possible during your visit.

There are multiple options for eating. We ate lunch in the buffet restaurant, the food was good and well priced especially when you consider that you are effectively captive audience.

We purchased a 4 hour ticket for our visit, and the time flew by quickly. It would have been easy to have spent more time at Chocholowski Termy.

Our time here was one of the highlights of our holiday, and we would definitely visit again if we returned to Zakopane. Although, maybe next time we would visit in the evening to experience the pools when they are lit up.
